YouTube has recently introduced an exciting new feature that allows creators to make videos using artificial intelligence. This feature is called Dream Screen and is powered by Google's latest AI model, Veo 2. With this tool, users can create standalone videos by simply describing what they want to see, making it easier to produce unique content without needing extensive video footage.

Previously, Dream Screen only allowed users to add AI-generated backgrounds to their videos. Now, it has expanded its capabilities, enabling creators to generate entire videos that can be used in YouTube Shorts, the platform's short-form video feature. This innovation aims to help creators find or visualize content that might be hard to capture in real life.

To use this new feature, creators will need to access the Shorts camera, enter their desired prompts, and select the style and length of the video they want to create. YouTube is also implementing a watermark called SynthID on all AI-generated videos to help prevent misuse, such as deepfakes. Currently, this feature is available in select countries, including Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and the United States.
