India's Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Ambassador Parvathaneni Harish, recently highlighted the importance of using artificial intelligence (AI) responsibly and ethically. During his speech at the UN, he discussed how the Indian government is actively working to incorporate AI into various aspects of governance and development. He provided examples of how AI is being utilized in national biometric systems and financial inclusion initiatives, showcasing its potential to drive economic growth and improve lives.

Ambassador Harish emphasized that technology should serve as a bridge to enhance development, ensuring that everyone has access to digital resources, regardless of their background. He pointed out that India's digital systems are designed to be inclusive, allowing even those with limited education or resources to benefit from advancements in technology. He announced that India will host the next AI Action Summit, which aims to facilitate global discussions on AI governance.
