In the rapidly evolving world of quantum computing, a Chinese startup called Origin Quantum has made a significant breakthrough. Based in Hefei, they have developed a cutting-edge measurement and control system named Origin Tianji 4.0, which can support quantum computers with over 500 qubits. This is a major step forward in China's quantum computing capabilities, representing a substantial upgrade from their previous system.
The new system, Origin Tianji 4.0, is designed to improve how quantum computers are controlled and read. Led by Kong Weicheng from the Anhui Quantum Computing Engineering Research Center, the team has created a system that enhances scalability, integration, stability, and automation. This technological advancement could potentially speed up the research and development of quantum computers, making them more efficient and reliable.
Since launching their quantum computer, Origin Wukong, in January 2024, the company has seen impressive global engagement. The system has been used over 26 million times by users across 139 countries and regions, successfully completing more than 380,000 computing tasks in various fields like finance and biomedicine. The measurement and control systems are essentially the "nerve centres" of quantum computers, crucial for managing precise signals and operations.
